Mine is located the same. When swinging, you have to keep the boat moving very slowly until the display says complete-more than 360 degs. Speed at idle in gear is too fast. I also had a problem with the AP computer that prevented swinging from completing. Raytheon replaced at no cost. They can tell you some simple ohmmeter tests for the compass. You might also check the compass wiring against the manual.

: On a three cabin new boat I have my flux-gate compass in the port cabin seat locker. I have moved tools away from this location but still have problems when swinging the boat calibration of the aystem. I would appreciate info. from other boats with a late model Raymarine ST 6001 autopilot system. #825 3 cabin
