I have the gyro as part of the original installation of my system. The course computer and gyro are installed under the starboard aft cabin berth aft of the fuel tank.
I can't compare the before and after, as I have always had it. steering is reasonably good but slow to respond to the seas, i prefer to hand seer in following seas.
I am very satisfied with the Radar overlay on the chartplotter and with the MARPA stability.
