My wife and I will be cruising our boat starting in the spring of 04. Call us crazy but we have done nothing from a structural perspective and feel quite confident the boat can hanle the rigors of bluewater sailing. We sail the Northern California coast and have yet to feel as if we wished the boat were stronger. Of course we have added quite a bit of equipment for safety sake and comfort. You can see some of the addtions at the site linked below. Several owners have added a staysail stay to their boats and you can read details of that in other posts on this forum.
