Eric, To really answer your question, you need to provide more information, such as: are you really planning on crossing oceans, or are you going to do mostly coastal cruising with some longer passages? Do you have time constraints or are you able to wait for a proper "weather window"? How experienced is your crew and how many of them are there? Do you want to buy a 200k boat and add 200k to it, or do you want to buy a 300k boat and add virtually nothing to it? Are you going to buy new, or used?
