I did the replacement and it was easy to do, as long as you have a helper. Ordered the thicker rub rail from Catalina parts - it was less than $2 per foot. They recommended I purchase 86 feet which was more than enough. The new rub rail is much thicker than the old one, and looks great. Be sure to install it on a warm day, and use a 2" stiff putty knife to work it into the extrusion. Also, try to keep compressing the rub rail horizontally back on itself every foot or so as you install it. That way it will expand vertically to fill up the track.
